April come she will is a song written by Paul Simon.

Utilizing the changing seasons as a metaphor for the capriciousness of a girl, “April Come She Will” was used very effectively in the film The Graduate and its soundtrack. Written in England in 1964 following a brief affair that Paul Simon had during his stay there, the lyrics were inspired by a nursery rhyme that the girl in question recited.

The changing seasons is merely a metaphor for the love affair he had in England and describes the different stages it went through until it ended.

The cuckoo comes in April

	Here's the TAB for Simon & Garfukel's "April Come She Will".  Play the
section between the double bars and "o"s three times through, these marks are
supposed to look like the symbol to repeat.  However, when you get to the final
four measures the third time, skip the ones marked "\\1,2\" and continue on to
"\\3\".   To match the recording, try using a capo at the first or second
fret, I can't recall which.  The chord shapes are all actually fairly basic,
use:
	G/D (xx0787), G6/D (xx0780), D (xx0775), G (3x0003), C/G (3x2013), Am
(x02210), Emadd4/G (3x220x), Fmaj7 (1x221x) (for this one use either your thumb
or barre an Am shaped chord to get the bottom note), Em (022000), C (x3201x)
and Dadd4 (x5403x).

Kathleen Mary “Kathy” Chitty (born 1947) worked part-time selling tickets at the Railway Inn Folk Club in Brentwood, Essex, UK in 1964. She became the girlfriend and muse of Paul Simon when he lived in England in 1964 and 1965. She is referred to directly or indirectly in at least four of his songs.

He met Kathy Chitty on 12 April 1964 at the very first English folk club he played, the Railway Inn Folk Club in Brentwood, Essex. She was 17, he was 22 and they fell in love. Later that year they visited the US together, touring around mainly by bus. Kathy returned to England on her own with Simon returning to her some weeks later. When he was back in London he recorded the album The Paul Simon Songbook that included “Kathy’s Song”, and had a photo of Simon and Kathy on the cover.
